The Latrobe University Library, 2009, Library Podcasts, viewed 7th March 2010, http://www.lib.latrobe.edu.au/podcasts/

On January 1st 2007 the Latrobe library introduced various pod casts for the collections as well as an audio tour of the library to help students, staff and faculty patrons find various materials. At first these were only in the Library it self setup as a audio link where you went around the collection and building with a pair of headphones to listen to the various information. They have now updated this to be all online where you can just download the audio file from the website and listen to it on your mp3/computer and so forth. From what is seen the materials are copyrighted but with permission these audio files are aloud to be uploaded elsewhere with the proper credits to the Latrobe University Library. The site also offers a RSS feed to the website noting any updates or changes to the audio content or if new materials have been added.

((initially was done on Tuesday but i have been down sick and didn't post till tonight))

Chosen Wiki

The wiki I have chosen to do is http://dhs.wikispaces.com/

It is basically the Dectaur High School Library. So :P choose ya own, good luck peeps.

What I found interesting about this website is its course contents and how it dedicates pages to the subjects like with the title on the main page telling you the month flavour which is Womens History
month. Another feature I find quite interesting in this Wiki are the pathfinder links to other quite authoritative as well as interesting to the subjects at hand.

Types of applications that could be incorporated into a wiki like this like calenders and times and dates that can be edited at any time, help-desk queries at real time speed with out having to be face to face and even general work place information that can be updated such as schedules and other types of information.

thats pretty much all I have to say at the moment but expect a full critical citation of Decatur High School Library tomorrow.

Google Buzz

Here's another interesting web 2 app i found, it is called Google Buzz and was recently released along side Googles new mail application called Google Wave.

Google buzz essentially is part of Gmail, but making it more of a socal thing that allows you to share your pictures with your designated friends, share news and relay chat to them via the application, sharing photos and so forth. I think its quite nifty, because as people know i'm not a fan of websites like face book or my space, i just find them to chaotic and clutered, but Buzz it self is neat, simple and extremely organised.

As I mentioned earlier in my post, to use this application you must have a Google Gmail account and down the left hand side of the bar just under the Inbox link you will find it there. There is no direct link to this feature but a sign up page can be found here: http://www.google.com/buzz

Enjoy ya blogging people!

Plupper: Live chat and service feedback Widget and real time chat

Hi again foaks, been looking around the web at various web 2 stuff and this one sparked my interest. For you people who love instant messenger a.k.a MSN, AIM, Yahoo and so forth this little web 2 app is for you

It is called Plupper and from my experiences with it has been quite the amusing little thing to actually sit down and play with, It offers you a variety of chat programs to log into like msn, aim and yahoo as well as the more newer chat protocols on social gathering sites like Face book, MySpace. It also gives you the options to use the older chat protocols like IRC ((Internet Relay chat)) Xampp and other things that were decades before modern messenging.

Other little features has hidden about is its site are games you can play people over it and live video links ((which was a hassle in my opinion to set up via it since you need to know what ports to open and make the website reconise you your web cam)) and voice chat over the appropriate messengers.

Link to the site: http://www.plupper.com/

That pretty much all I have to say on this for now, gonna critically evaluate this on Tuesday along side other thing.
